Food, Music & Wine Are at the Forefront of Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s New Chamber Concert Experience

(Wheeling, WV) Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) announces a new chamber concert experience –A Taste of the Symphony, featuring wine, hors d’oeuvers, and an intimate chamber music performance. The event will be held Wednesday, April 10 at 6:00 pm at the Chancery of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston in Wheeling, WV. 

Experience chamber music in a new way. From 6:00pm to 7:00pm, enjoy a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres from Chef Rocco Basil. At 7:00 pm, experience an intimate chamber concert from musicians, Elisa Kohanski (cello), Roi Mezare (clarinet), and Rodrigo Ojeda (piano). Featuring works by Mozart, Bruch, and Brahms.

The concert features performances by Elisa Kohanksi, Roi Mezare, and Rodrigo Ojeda. Ms. Kohanski enjoys a diverse performing career, appearing regularly as soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, and championing unique collaborations with artists of other disciplines. She holds the position of Principal Cellist of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Wheeling Symphony and is a member of the cello section in the Pittsburgh Opera. As an active orchestral musician, Mr. Mezare appears with the Pittsburgh Symphony, New World Symphony in Miami, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet and the IDF Orchestra. He holds the principal clarinet position with the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. Currently Mr. Ojeda is an Artist Lecturer in Piano in the School of Music at Carnegie Mellon University as well as a piano faculty member in its Music Preparatory School. He has also been playing with the Pittsburgh Symphony since October 2006.

“It has been said that chamber music feeds the soul,” said Bryan Braunlich, General Manager of the WSO. “We want people to have this great experience of pairing an evening of food and wine with a performance from some of the best musicians in the area with some of the greatest chamber music ever written. Additionally, we are excited to share this musical event in the incredible space of the Chancery of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Our thanks to the Diocese for allowing us to play in this space and for use of their unbelievable and beautifully refurbished 1900s Steinway & Sons piano.  Trust me, you won’t want to miss this amazing evening.”

The cost of the chamber experience is $35 per person. The evening’s food will be catered by local chef, Rocco Basil.  There is limited seating. More information is available at
